*****************At long last, my garmin vista hcx showed up this morning. After some practice using the gps, and waiting for my kids to come home from the first day of school, we finally got a chance to do some geocaching. It was an interesting first time out. Is it me or do people like to find spots covered in poison ivy and oak? Everywhere we went today was covered. But that didn't stop us completely. Several spots out this way seemed to be missing the cache. We combed the areas but came up empty. Finally we came across cache gc12mk1 "parking". After a little bit of searching, T-rex2008 and I found the cleverly camoflaged cache. At least we know the gps is working. With the first cache behind us, now the excitement of the hunt starts to set in.

Way to go guys! Welcome to the obsession....
A bit of advice. First, before attempting any cache be sure to read the last four logs. If they are all or mostly DNFs (did not finds) or you see that maintenance is needed then don't bother. If you see all recent finds then more than likely you simply do not have the experience yet to know what you are looking for. Second, don't get discouraged it comes with time and finding the huge variety of caches out there. Finally, if you have any questions please give me a call.
